Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda  has said,” Achievements are rewards of efficiency”. Indeed we are proud to harvest the rewards of efficiency through the dedicated performance of our duties all through these 29 years . As we stand on the threshold  of the 30^th year since the inception of this temple of learning, we feel humbled by the vast experience which has turned each day of this Vidyalaya a rounded beauty of love, goodness and joy.Around 2000  lucky ones from kindergarten to senior secondary are lavished in the flavor of our swad- the school with a difference, which has been made possible through the visionary enthusiasm of 80 Teaching and 16  non – teaching members of the staff.Blessed are those who attended the ceremony to dedicate our new academic block in the name of Sri. A S Menon , the founder director of Chinmaya Vidyalayas T V P M by Poojya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda ,Supreme Head Chinmaya Mission World Wide. We are glad to pass the prasada of this holy memory to the generations to come.The Vidyalaya was enveloped in a serene environment during the Geetha Jnana Yajna  on Bhakthi Yoga conducted by Swami Viswananda , Acharya ,Chinmaya Mission , Neeleswaram.The five enlightening days of discourse was held in the month of April.Academic session of 2011-2012 commenced in full swing from 1^st June as classes for std X and XII started in May itself.The result of our first batch of Class XII which appeared in March 2011 and the result of Class X have made us proud again. Vaishnavi H J topped the Science stream and Siva Priya R is the topper in Computer Science stream in AISSCE 2011 14 students of class X scored 10 point    C G P A in AISSE 2011.Child centered, Activity oriented, learning by doing curriculum is being facilitated from the K G class through Adaptive Curriculum followed by Continuous and comprehensive Evaluation from Primary to secondary level subject to monitoring by C B S E Board .Empowered by Chinmaya Vision Programme we strive to bring out the best of each Chinmaya child.Teaching departments under which the best teaching practices are shared enrich themselves through monthly subject councils and the general platform of Academic Council.Smart class rooms ensure that facilitators of learning are tech savvy .Regular parents meeting bridge the gap between the school and parents.Scholastic and co – Scholastic activities open a fresh page in the chronicle of this Vidyalaya. In connection with Seva day ,sandals were distributed to the inmates of old age home at Chakka. Besides, they interacted with them and distributed sweets. Guruji’s  birthday was celebrated strengthening the bond of Chinmaya children with the Guruparampara. The auspicious occasion of Gurupoornima was observed with special prayers, bhajans  and talks enriching Indian culture .Chinmaya Aradhana day was spent in deep contemplation on works and deeds of Poojya Gurudev .The glory of Gurudev was brought alive during the occasion.The holy month of Karkidakam was observed as Ramayana month . On the concluding day, on-the-spot drawing archana based on the Ramayana was performed by students.The Ramayana recitation on all days of the month ennobled the young minds .Mathrupooja was conducted on Vijayadasami day.Children offered pooja to their mothers as a token of their reverence and respect.Geetha Jayanthi and Tapovan Jayanthi was observed as the most auspicious day of the year. Chanting  of the Geetha before the beginning of class recharge the Vidyalaya with positive vibration.In connection with Environment day tree saplings were distributed to students with guidance to preserve trees .As part of Reading Week observation, reading competition, essay writing and elocution competition were held .Every year a good number of books are added to the library. Spacious school library, class libraries encourage reading habit among children .The Vidyalaya planted a tree in its premises named it –sneha- taking into account the care and concern we owe to the generation of trees.A host of career guidance programs were organized for the senior secondary students to get them exposed to wider opportunities.A large paper crane was prepared on Hiroshima day telling the tale of human tragedy which should not be repeated . Vidyalaya prayed for world peace.National days of importance were celebrated in true spirit .Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanthi,Childrens’ day were celebrated .The enthused participation of the young patriots added vigor to the functions  organized during those days .A large student turnout was seen on the early morning of Independence day , during cleaning drive on Gandhi jayanthi day   and there was active participation of students for the quiz program organized on children’s day.On Teachers’ day student-teachers of senior secondary section got a taste of the art of teaching and learners enjoyed the joy of learning. The day was a festival of learning.Students’  talents were exhibited on occasions like Youth festival and Art & science Fest .Competence of children matched their performance on stage through the various cultural competitions held.Innovative ideas unfolded as exhibits during Art & Science Fest .The event projected the scientific temper of their head and aesthetic sense of their heart.  Onam  celebration of the year was marked by pookalam competition and a wide range of traditional games with much gaiety and pleasure.Eco-club functions actively in the Vidyalaya .Besides tree planting and cleaning drive the anniversary of Bhopal tragedy was  brought before the audience of various classes through a presentation.Rock exhibition was organized by Cosmos, the social Science club.Swan , the English Literary club organized debate and group discussion along with literary competitions.Students were reminded of the aftermath of tsunami through a presentation in connection with 26^th December , the remembrance  day of the dreadful calamity was organized by Disaster Management Club.Learn a Hindi word daily promoted by the department of Hindi through presenting a Hindi word and its meaning in bulletin board is worth mentioning.Subject magazines will be released  shortly which is a collaborative effort of all teaching departments.Pleasure trips were organized to Happy Land  and Wonderla for the junior and senior students respectively.Balavihar and CHYK classes are conducted regularly during after school hours .Balavihar children sing , dance , chant and listen to stories narrate their own and get the essence of Chinmaya.The  CHYKS organize themselves to tap their potential  to its maximum  advantage .Ramayana Quiz competition , a unique presentation on the importance  of Deepavali  were the special programs organized by CHYK unit of the Vidyalaya besides weekly sessions .Eleven  CHYK members participated for the CAM-TRA-CON Camp at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Kasargode.Scout and Guide unit too function actively in our Vidyalaya. Five Scouts have won Rajya Puraskar  award. They have also undertaken many activities including cleaning drive and rally. An exhibition was organized in connection with the hundredeth anniversary of Baden Powell’s visit to India. Four day camp was also conducted at the Vidyalaya where the children gathered a fairly good scout environment , ready to face the modern world. It is under the able  guidance of  Sri Ramesh Lal and Smt Sandhya  that the unit functions actively.Cub and Bul Bul units are equally  active  under the leadership of  Smt.Mini  & Smt.Beena SHouse system is in place  in the vidyalaya. Students and teachers are grouped under Vyasa, sankara, Vivekananda, Tapovan and Chinmaya house.School assembly, Bulletin board and activities of the Vidyalaya are co- ordinated by the HousesStudent Council of the Vidyalaya is headed by Megha S , as Head Girl and Abhilash R Nair as Head Boy assisted by Prefects selected from Senior classes.Vidyalaya boasts of strong Alumni who make us proud and lend inspiration to the coming batches. We are proud of  Mr. Hari V R ,our alumnus who has entered Indian Administrative  Service.The Department of Physical Education do not miss any effort to encourage sportsman spirit and talents of students. Vidyalaya organized the second edition of Chin Elevens Cup Football tournament at Chandrasekharan Nair stadium. The second Chin Elevens cup was lifted by the team from Viswaprakash Central School. Team from Loyola school retained the Runners Up trophy.Our basketball team has actively participated in the All Kerala N B A League Tournament.Our athletes have participated in CBSE Sports Meet and other Sports events. School level sports competitions were also held under various categories.Apart from football coaching, Karate coaching is also offered to studentsTo empower teachers to keep pace with the modern trends in teaching learning process ,teachers of our Vidyalaya are sent to various training programmes.Teachers have attended training programs organised by SCS, Madhuban and other agencies and Sahodaya. Teachers have also attended CCE training programme organized by CBSE.The latest trends in teaching learning have been incorporated in the class room practice. Model classes for all subjects have been arranged by the management to share the best teaching practices  and methods among the faculty. Computer training sessions have been offered to teachers to enhance their  teaching skills.Vidyalaya has a lot of talents being exposed through healthy participation and have won prizes.Sajit C M  and Gowtham are the recipients of CCMT scholarship. The team from the Vidyalaya bagged the overall trophy of Daksha 2011 organised by Chinmaya Vidyalaya vazhuthacaud. Participants bagged prizes  in patriotic song, Group song and Folk Song.The participants bagged prize for theme dance and group dance.Sruthi and party won 3^rd prize in patriotic song organized by Sabarmathi Sanga ganotsav.In Sahodaya Youth festival too our students won prizes and grades  in various competitions.Anjali C won first in Kuchupudi and Folk dance and second in Mohiniyattam.Arun Unni won first in Hindi Essay writing .Swathi  S Pai and party won 3^rd in patriotic song.Sonica emerged first in Light music. Sreelekshmi has won 3^rd prize in Science Hunt conducted by St. Mary’s Residential School.Besides, our students have won prizes in various competitions like  Olympiads and  Quiz competitions .Looking back we feel inspired by the glory of the past, are hopeful of the present and see a dynamic future ahead.Our  humble pranams at the lotus feet of Poojya Gurudev, the perennial source of our inspiration.Hari Om!!!
